Wrooooooom! Part #1

A few shots from my recent work.

Motorsport racing on round circuits in Switzerland is officially not allowed since 1955. Since then, a lot of small and officially granted events, e.g. mountain races are held here instead, like the most famous of all, the «Klausen Memorial». Other and smaller events like the «Oldtimer Classics Hittnau» or the «GP-Mutschellen» are typical gathering occasions for motorsport enthusiasts who like to feel the roar of powerful engines from the past and from today and want too see them in action.
Shooting on such events results in a much more action feeling in the pictures than shooting on typical old-timer or car shows, where the machines are just displayed with a crowd of spectators around.

I shot this series of pictures at the «Oldtimer Classics Hittnau», Switzerland. It was a lightly rainy day, but the cloud cover was an advantage to my pictures, because it brought a very smooth light on the metallic and lacquered surfaces.

I had a press accreditation and therefore it was possible to shoot without any crowd of spectators that usually obstruct the pictures.

My «Wrooooom» pictures were shot with a NIKON D200 DSLRs with NIKKOR AF-S VR-I 70-200mm G lens. The fine tuning has been made in Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Apple Aperture 3.

Enjoy, Alfredo Briccola
